Raised in the family,
I watched as she lived life in strides.
Not a mother or a father,
But, I know she’s like mine in my eyes.
Refrain:
In a prayer for your peace,
I prayed she’d know your peace.
Lord, grant her peace,
Everlasting peace.
***
When I claimed you as, Savior,
Your breath filled my body and mind.
When she saw how much I loved you,
She still stayed there close by my side.
Refrain:
In a prayer for your peace,
I prayed she’d know your peace.
Lord, grant her peace,
Everlasting peace.
***
Lord, I know the way home,
But, I’ll rest my soul here a while.
I’m praying for your mercy.
Lord, be there in her last rugged mile.
Refrain:
In a prayer for your peace,
I prayed she’d know your peace.
Lord, grant her peace,
Everlasting peace.
