Two-Step in Time

Simply, you’ve been the love of my life.  I couldn’t see it, back in time, but now you stay on my mind.  Now, that’s a pleasure, I find.

***

Refrain:

What made you love me, when your eyes met mine?  We were wistful, with passion.  Our hearts intertwined.  Carefree, but fancy, we did the two-step in time.  Now, dance with me darling.  Come here near, by my side.

***

Together, we share the treasures we’ve known.  It’s where our heartstrings are stowed, our vows to have and to hold, and all that matters, we know.

***

Refrain:

What made you love me, when your eyes met mine?  We were wistful, with passion.  Our hearts intertwined.  Carefree, but fancy, we did the two-step in time.  Now, dance with me darling.  Come here near, by my side.

***

We first promised, and then we wed.  We’ve lived our lives best of friends, come what now, come what then.  We’re the promise, we’ve kept.

***

Refrain:

What made you love me, when your eyes met mine?  We were wistful, with passion.  Our hearts intertwined.  Carefree, but fancy, we did the two-step in time.  Now dance with me darling.  Come here near, by my side.

***

Now, dance with me darling.  Come here near, by my side.
